EFI INTAKES

The info on this page was supplied by Andrew from the reader's rides page.

Intakes: The following photos show the difference between the SN95 upper intake(1994-1995 Mustang-on the left) and the the Fox body upper intake(1986-1993 Mustang-on the right).  As you can see from the photos,  both intakes will fit in the meteor without modification.  If you have power brakes, you'll need to convert to manual or an aftermarket smaller diameter booster as the original cast aluminum unit interferes with the upper intake.

There is a very tight clearance area by the windshield wiper motor when using the SN95 upper intake as you can see in the photo.  This area has much more room with the Fox body upper intake.  I chose to go with the Fox body intake because of the extra horsepower ( about 10 per Ford's HP rating ) and the better overall fit in the engine compartment.  It also offers slightly more room to go back to power brakes if one should choose to do so.  In the photos comparing the Fox intake to the SN95, you can also see the better flow path the air takes helping make more power."
